Abandoned Ireland
Ireland seems to be famous for abandoned buildings - it is spotted with
disused castles, churches and other buildings. With misty weather it
creates realy mysterious climate.
The process continuous - not only centuries old structures can be found but also quite recent, and even brand new ones, like houses built during estate boom and never sold when the crisis came

Cobh (3) - 150 years of railway
Constant stream of passengers and goods was obvious reason to build a railway line, and in 1862 it opened - so this year Cobh also celebrated 150 years since that event.
Nowodays it only serves for commuters (and is definitely the fastest link to Cork), and apparently also for some (only some) cruise liners

Cobh (2) - Titanic last port of call

Cobh
Cobh was a welcomed changed from usual overnight stay destination with its WatersEdge. The hotel is located very nicely, although getting to Cobh is tricky, especially outside of ferry operation hours...
The feature of the town is being a port for Cork for cruiser ships - although locals complain that travellers only change into buses and the local area does not gain anything because of that fact.
Anyway not always one is being woken up by sound and view of such a creature:
The hill abowe the town is dominated by the cathedral, which nicely balances size of ships arriving at its steps:

Eire
As for the first week of November I was sent to Ireland, this month will be devoted to this country. I was really lucky, as there were 4 days in a row without rain (as opposed to typical 40 without the Sun), but some of the photos are from previous trips to County Cork.
For the beginning the earliest ones, dated 2010 and actually showing quintesence of Éire - green, hilly, misty isle with many abandoned buildings.
